General Item Return Policy
Out of box failure
If your product arrives damaged or is not working, within 7 days, you can return it to us for replacement or refund. Include all its accessories, e.g. cables, chargers, batteries, in the returned parcel.
No exchanges or refunds will be granted after the lapse of a 30-day period from the date of delivery.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be returned in the same condition that you received it and in the original packaging including all accessories, e.g. cables, chargers, batteries.
The following goods are not returnable:
- Perishable food products;
- Fresh Flowers.
- Live plants
- Newspapers and magazines.
- Flammable liquids or gasses;
- Gift cards;
- Downloadable software products;
- Certain health and personal care items;
- Sanitary products;
- Swim wear;
- Socks; and/or
- Hazardous materials.
To complete your return, we require the receipt or proof of purchase. Returns should be sent to 4 a STEAL.com and not the supplier/manufacturer.
Returns from outside of South Africa must be received within 40 days.
If the item is still under warranty, you will be reimbursed for the return shipping fees after the defective item has arrived at our distribution centre. Any further costs incurred during the return process will be for the customer’s account.
There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable)
Books with obvious signs of usage;
CD, DVD, USB, software, video game, or vinyl record that have been opened.
Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error;
Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery.
Refunds (once applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you a confirmation email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment.
Only non-sale items may be refunded. In the event of a settlement for a sale item, the sale price will apply.
Returning a defective item
We will do our best to ensure that the products shipped to our customers are in their best conditions. If your product is defective, please provide us with the following:
- Photos of the front and the back of the package or box;
- Partial shipment slips (if applicable);
- Photo or video of the defective item;
- Photo or video and a detailed description of the problem.
This clause does not include products of a category with specific warranty terms as well as damages caused by incorrect usage or abuse of a product.
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.
If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he/she will be notified of the return.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable if your claim is rejected.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
If you are shipping an item over R750, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We can’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item since a third party is involved.
